Q: Now that everything is online, what does your typical school day look like?

So far it's just been logging into our learning platform and just kind of seeing what assignments I have coming up which are about a week away. So I usually just start working on those in the order that they come out. There are lecture videos that are new and so I watch those, take notes on them.

Q: I understand that a lot of people have trouble with online classes. As far as organizing your day, is it hard for you or overwhelming at all?

Yeah for sure. Right now I'm actually in the process of making a board on Trello where I just list all the assignments that I have to do, and then I just kind of mentally space out what I'm going to do on what day that's been helping out a little bit.

Q: Does it get a bit exhausting for you?

Yeah I'd say so. It takes some time. I think I'm going to try to do it every Sunday just to try and kinda keep the schedule going.

Q: Right now do you currently have any online lectures where you meet face to face?

Kind of. There's one class that's like that but it's not a weekly thing. It's more when we need to meet and talk about exams. Beyond that it's not like a regular class.

Q: Is it more of a session to meet with your teacher and ask questions?

Yeah, that seems to be what he's using it for.

Q: As far as the lectures that you have right now, are they at all understandable? I know a few other people have told me that they have to use outside sources to try to learn the material.

Yeah, I've had to use outside sources. YouTube for sure, Khan Academy, Quizlet, Chegg. I think that's about it

"I'd say overall it's more difficult. I feel like I have more work to complete. There's more flexibility. All of my classes are asynchronous so it's kind of nice that I can just choose whenever to do them."

Q: So with online learning, would you say it’s more difficult? Or have you benefited from it at all?

I'd say overall it's more difficult. I feel like I have more work to complete. There's more flexibility. All of my classes are asynchronous so it's kind of nice that I can just choose whenever to do them.

Q: Now that you have to do everything pretty much in the same space, lectures, homework, and things like that, how is that experience like for you?

It's been fine. It hasn't really felt that different to me because I usually did a lot of stuff online anyway so it kind of just feels a little bit different but nothing major.

Q: Does it get a little bit hectic working from home?

Yeah, it can be. I have to stop myself from working on things just to kind of give myself a break at the end of the day.

Q: How do you go about connecting with your classmates at this moment?

I really don't. There's not a lot of opportunities to connect with them. If I have friends that are in the same class I'll connect with them but that's just because we regularly talk to begin with.

Q: So would you say within this whole experience you haven't had any success meeting new people.

Correct, no one at all.

Q: Is that something you potentially want to do or are you just leaving it as is?

It would be something that I’d enjoy because and in the previous semesters it was a nice aspect, getting to know new people within the same classes as you but yeah now that's not happening. You almost forget that there are other people taking an online class with you.

Q: Right now since you’re not really getting any help from other people, are you doing classes on your own?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Q: A few other interviewees have said that they feel really disconnected from everything. Do you feel the same way?

Yeah, I do.

Q: And what have your teachers done to help you out if they've done anything?

They haven't really done anything yet

Q: Really? Is there something that you wish your teachers would do?

I'm not entirely sure at this point. I think just keeping in mind the workload for sure. I feel that because we're online now, a lot of people have the idea that we can do extra work but that's not necessarily the case. Because if every Professor thinks that then... Yeah.

Q: Is there anything you're necessarily hoping for within this next year?

I'd say I'm just waiting for things to get back to normal eventually.
