ICLCA and CircleIn Announce Partnership to Help Learning Centers Bring Responsible AI Tutoring to Students

New collaboration will support learning center and tutoring center leaders as they expand student success services for the AI age.

Washington DC, June 15th 2026: The International College Learning Center Association (ICLCA) and CircleIn announced a new partnership today to help learning center and tutoring center leaders bring responsible AI tutoring to students as part of their campus student success strategy.

The partnership comes at a critical moment for higher education. Students are using AI, but many institutions are still working to define what responsible AI use should look like in academic support. Learning centers are uniquely positioned to lead that work because they already sit at the intersection of tutoring, academic skill-building, faculty collaboration, and student belonging.

Through this partnership, ICLCA and CircleIn will help members explore how CircleIn’s AI Tutor can become a trusted extension of the learning center. The focus is not on replacing tutors, faculty, or peer support. The focus is on helping learning centers expand access to high-quality academic support, especially for students who need help outside normal operating hours or who may be hesitant to ask for help in person.

“Learning centers have always been at the heart of student support,” said Dr. P. Branding Johnson, President of ICLCA. “As students navigate this new AI age, our members are asking how they can lead responsibly. This partnership gives learning center professionals a practical pathway to explore AI tutoring in a way that aligns with their mission, their standards, and their commitment to student learning. While expanding opportunities for access, support and engagement with essential tutoring resources.”

The partnership will provide opportunities for ICLCA members to learn about implementation models, see CircleIn’s AI Tutor in action, and explore how AI tutoring can fit into their learning assistance programs. The collaboration is intended to help learning centers become a trusted campus voice in AI-enabled student success.

“Every campus is trying to answer the same question: how do we help students use AI in ways that make them better learners?” said Gerald Meggett Jr, CEO + Co-Founder of CircleIn. “Learning center leaders are the right people to help answer that question. They understand tutoring. They understand learning. They understand students. We are excited to partner with ICLCA to help their members lead responsible AI adoption on campus.”

For many students, the moment of need happens late at night, between work shifts, before an exam, or while they are studying alone and unsure how to move forward. With CircleIn’s AI Tutor, institutions can offer students access to guided academic support 24/7, while helping them build the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in college.

For learning center leaders, the partnership creates an opportunity to expand their impact without asking staff to do more with less. AI Tutoring can help centers support more courses, reach more students, and provide a responsible alternative to general-purpose AI tools that may encourage shortcut behavior.

The partnership reflects a shared belief that the future of learning assistance is not AI replacing human support. It is AI helping institutions extend high-quality support to more students, more often, and in more equitable ways.
